Canyon X Chute

Location:  Page, Arizona is where you can arrange for access. This canyon is in the Antelope River watershed on privately held land. We arranged access through Overland Canyon Tours.

Equipment:  Canon EOS 5D, 16-35 lens. Taken at 4 seconds, f 22, ISO 250.

Digital imaging/manipulation:  Two lens flares removed.

Notes:  When you go into slot canyons don't use a flash, use a tripod. Look at the ceiling, that's where the action is. And always take a cable release. Oops! I forgot that on this trip. Since rocks seldom move, you can take very long exposures at low ISOs and high f stops...Unless you forget the cable release. If you are looking for slot canyons, upper and lower Antelope are more dramatic, but in the high travel months can be packed with tourists (you know, those people we hate even though we're tourists too). This canyon has very limited access with some nice photographic opportunities and is certainly worth the trip.
