Kaiparowits Plateau

Location: Kaiparowits Plateau about 40 miles west of Page, AZ off Highway 89. It is another 10 miles north of the turn off.

Find the location: Copy the coordinates below. Open Google Earth, paste the coordinates into "Fly To" and click on the magnifying glass.

Equipment: Canon EOS 5D with 28-105 and polarizing filter. Set at ISO 50, f22 and 1/5 second.

Digital imaging/manipulation: None.

Notes: This was taken in late afternoon at the Paria Townsite. As I understand it, the townsite, a movie set, may have since burned down. See Paria Panorama. There is a lot more to see here if you hike on in. You will want to take water, etc. though its only about 10 miles from the highway on a gravel road.
