Sedona-Cathedral Rock

Location: Sedona Arizona about 100 miles north of the 101 Loop of Phoenix you leave Interstate 17 (Black Canyon Freeway) and go about 10 miles to the northwest on highway 179. Once there, ask for Cathedral Rock. You go back to the southwest on 89A. It's photographed from a park in Sedona.

Find the location: Copy the coordinates below. Open Google Earth, paste the coordinates into "Fly To" and click on the magnifying glass.

Equipment:  Hasselblad C501 with 50 mm lens and polarizing filter.  Velvia transparency film, ISO 50. Cropped

Digital imaging/manipulation:  Image scanned with Minolta Dimage Scan Multi PRO at 4800 dpi.  Emulsion artifact removed.

Notes: This is shot from Red Rock Park. It is either in Sedona or right on the outskirts. In other words, it's close and doesn't require much effort. I'm trying to figure out how to shoot it from the car. This was shot in early evening.
