Autumn Aspen

Location: From Denver International Airport, Aspen is about 4 hours west. Take I-70 west about 170 miles to CO 82 at Glenwood. Head south to Aspen. This route should usually be open in winter during the ski season. An alternate route in warmer weather leaves I-70 and heads south through Leadville, CO. About 1/2 mile west of Aspen is a turnabout. Castle Creek Road is the second right turn if you are coming from the west. Take the road to Cathedral Lake Road, roughly 10-11 miles to the south.

Equipment: EOS 5D Mark II, 24-105 mm lens and polarizing filter. Shot at ISO 50, 2.0 seconds at f 22.

Notes: This was shot in early November around 1:00 PM. We took the bumpy dirt/gravel/stone road up to the parking lot for the Cathedral Lake trailhead (about 1/2 mile). This was taken along the way.
