Lake Clark Evening

Location:  In July, Alaska is light pretty much around the clock.  Lake Clark National Park is located in the southern part of the state and is commonly accessed by small aircraft out of the Anchorage airport.  We stayed at Wilderness Lodge within the park (1990).  Very nice people and accommodations then.

Find the location: Copy the coordinates below. Open Google Earth, paste the coordinates into "Fly To" and click on the magnifying glass.

60° 13' 46.69" N
154° 17' 57.90" W

Equipment:  Hasselblad C501 with 50 mm lens and polarizing filter.  Velvia transparency film, ISO 50.

Digital imaging/manipulation:  Image scanned with Minolta Dimage Scan Multi PRO at 4800 dpi.  Emulsion artifact removed.

Notes:  Many lodges have fly-in services for fishing.  While there we were able to fly to Katmai National Park for the day.  Katmai, known for its coastal grizzlies is located a little over 200 miles to the southwest of Lake Clark.
