Many Glacier Dawn 9-15-11 HDR

Location: Glacier National Park in Montana. If you enter from the Kalispell area, this lodge is in the northeastern part of the park. You traverse the park via Going-to-the-Sun Road then turn north. You then head back west on Many Glacier Road. They'll give you a map at the gate. Its cross-the border counterpart is Waterton National Park.

Notes: This is what you see when you stand on the back deck of Many Glacier Lodge. There are a number of very nice accomodations throughout the park including several historic lodges. Its scenery is spectacular. Waterton-Glacier also has an impressive variety of fauna including grizzly and black bears, mountain goats, and bighorn sheep. Without doubt, this park is one of the crown jewels of the national park sytem. When visiting, don't miss Waterton, a spectacular park in its own right. During our visits, bighorn sheep would walk in front of the hotel. We were told that by closing in 2010, they would actually stroll into the lobby.
