Veratrum viride - Glacier

Location: Glacier National Park, Montana.

Equipment:  Hasselblad C501 with 50 mm lens and polarizing filter.  Velvia transparency film, ISO 50.

Digital imaging/manipulation:  Image scanned with Minolta Dimage Scan Multi PRO at 4800 dpi.  Emulsion artifact removed.

Notes: Known as False Hellebore or Corn Lily, these plants grow in wet areas in the mountains. We've usually seen them at around 5000 feet. All parts of the plant are poisonous.
